New Colocation Report, Best Insights and Stories from 2017

I love January. You get to start fresh and wrap up the previous year – looking at what we accomplished and setting the bar higher for tomorrow. As the marketing strategy leader for Schneider’s Cloud & Service Providers segment, I spend my time thinking about cloud and colocation data center operators and how we can help improve their businesses. With that in mind, a look back on 2017 and my top 3 resolutions for 2018.

Resolution #1: Help colocation providers overcome challenges and predict the future
We know colocation providers want to understand their customers so they can make smart business decisions and propel their businesses. In September, we introduced a new report commissioned from the global analyst firm 451 Research. “Customer Insight: Future-proofing your colocation business” presents an analysis of data gathered from 450+ colocation buyer decision-makers in the United States, Australia, Europe and China, to serve as guidance to colocation providers as they make business decisions. For a taste of what it includes, take a look at this interactive infographic. In 2018 we’ll continue to explore the future needs of colocation buyers and take a deeper look at the insights discussed in the report.

Resolution #2: Grow our International Colocation Community
We have a wealth of expertise throughout our network and we bring that network together for our International Colocation Club (ICC), an annual gathering of colocation providers from around the globe. This year’s event was held in London and we brought together customers from 20 countries! Great networking, great content, and a whole lot of fun.

In 2018, we’re looking to provide more networking opportunities, to continue the amazing line up of speakers, and bring even more of the community together – live and online. We will be introducing Digital ICC this year starting with a series of webcasts delivered by industry technical and business experts and leading colocation providers. Our first webcast is coming soon.

Resolution #3: Keep the conversation going
2017 was a great year for our bloggers and customers. Some of our favorite moments include:

A roundtable discussion with colocation and cloud providers from India hosted at our Schneider Electric Technology Center in St. Louis, USA
An inside look into Telefonica’s journey to becoming a digital telco
Fabrice Coquie, President of Interxion France, sharing how his company built a data center in only two months, opening up customers to new markets in Africa and the Middle East

In 2018, we’re going to be on the lookout for more such stories to tell, because there’s much to be learned from your successes and challenges.
