For 15 consecutive years, Trend Micro has received the Best Global Taiwan Brands and named as second most valuable this year. The award is organized by the Industrial Development Bureau of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Intrabrand, a global consultancy. Through continuous efforts to provide advanced technology and services in cyber security solutions, Trend Micro’s brand value is estimated at US$1.405 billion in 2017. In addition, Trend Micro has been the market share leader in server security since IDC began tracking the market in 2009. In the consumer market, Trend Micro Internet Security was granted The best antivirus software for “Windows Home User” by AV test.
In recent years, we have been aggressively investing in the information security field of IoT. Since any device connected to the internet is a potential target for hackers, information security has become more and more important each day. In response to the challenges of personal information leakage, financial threat, and theft of business secrets, etc., Trend Micro launched the XGen™ security last year, which incorporates machine learning to ensure our customer’s information security across the times. We have guarded our customer safety from over 100 million ransomwares in 2016. When the WannaCry Attack happened in May 2017, Trend Micro demonstrated its capability and brand value through providing users effective protection mechanisms and free risk assessment tools.
As one of the best international brands in Taiwan, we are fully aware of our social responsibility, as we always do in the IT security market. Trend Micro organizes various programs, including the Internet Safety for Kids and Families program that was founded back in 2008. Last year, Trend Micro even planned an overnight Children’s Magical Coding Camp and a 5-day remote area winter camp. Through VR technology and for charity, the Magical VR Bus visited more than 100 elementary and allowed up to 3,500 children living in remote areas to experience astronomy education.
A global R&D center, Trend Micro Taiwan understands the significance of fostering Taiwan talent. Since 2015, we have invested NT$12 million, combing industry and academia resources, in the Secure Elite Program. Moreover, we are collaborating with Taiwan’s National Applied Research Laboratories in constructing Taiwan’s first AI platform: T-brain. This platform will be open to academia for creating an ecosystem that will advance Taiwan’s information security ability. Positioned as the worldwide IT security leader, we are proud to contribute to the connected world through connecting intelligence.
