A number of Fortinet employees recently joined with thousands of attendees at the 2017 HIMSS conference in Orlando, Florida. These individuals were on hand to discuss the latest healthcare innovations, and to share information about Fortinet’s products and services with HIMSS17 attendees.
We had a chance to sit down with several Fortinet Health IT and Security experts to hear what they had to say about the current healthcare security landscape and the products that Fortinet offers to combat evolving threats.

HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP) certified Chris Moynier sees the utilization of cloud services as one of the primary security obstacles in healthcare. In the video below, he discusses the specific challenges of choosing a cloud provider and blocking unauthorized cloud applications. Watch the clip to learn how Fortinet’s Security Fabric can help healthcare organizations better secure the cloud.
Before Kevan Paul joined Fortinet as a systems engineer, he worked at Intermountain Healthcare for 12 years, which gave him an abundance of experience in understanding healthcare’s evolution and needs. In this video, Paul focuses on micro-segmentation in healthcare and its role in protecting networks. He also discusses the importance of a unified security approach like Fortinet’s Security Fabric.
While the IoT has allowed healthcare organizations to improve patient care, it’s also broadened the attack surface by pulling data out of its natural environment. Fortinet systems engineer and former CVS Caremark Sr. Network Engineer Roger Bailey shares some of the ways Fortinet’s Security Fabric addresses this challenge while controlling data at the application layer.
Scott Berger worked for Ascension Health in the security service line before he joined Fortinet as a systems engineer. In this video clip, Berger analyzes the challenge of moving data to the cloud and the importance of micro-segmentation. He also shares the benefits that can be realized when working with Fortinet’s open API platform.
