Deep Security 10: Customer Driven Development with TRC

At least that used to be the standard software development process. Customers were involved in feedback quite late in the development process, often after the release has been mostly formed.
We recently shared how Deep Security 10 is an example of server security standing the test of time but it was also the first release without a Beta! Why does this matter?
Instead of being consulted with after the fact, many lead customers were involved directly with shaping major features during the entire course of development. We recently talked with Deborah Larkins from XentIT, who had this to say about the customer-driven development process, “it was truly one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had. In the past, I’ve been a part of beta programs for other products, but I never felt like they were listening to what I had to say.”
Another enthusiastic participant in customer-driven development was Jason Cradit from TRC. TRC is a national engineering, consulting, and construction management firm that provides integrated services to energy, environmental, and infrastructure markets. Jason played a transformative role in shaping public cloud usage into a strategic priority for his organization.
Jason said, “The way that Trend Micro executed the Deep Security 10 preview was refreshing. My team felt like we had skin in the game, Trend Micro was listening to our feedback and taking action in short order.”
From this video, you can feel Jason’s enthusiasm from being involved in the process and working with Adam Boyle (Head of Product Management) and the amazing Deep Security development team:

Jason was one of many customers who were gracious enough to give their time to ensure the features were the right fit for all environments and operations. Working directly with customers like TRC, and having them hands on with early software ensures we can provide the best possible solution for customers. Through close collaboration, TRC influenced the ability to automate application control with rapidly changing application stacks and the visibility of any changes.
Deep Security 10 is truly a product inspired by the experiences of real customers and reflects the benefits of integrating their first-hand knowledge directly into the design. We are proud of the unique shift to customer-driven development and the difference it is making in securing the hybrid cloud.
